Even though Tanzania is among the developing countries that have had improvements in their education, local students believe their country’s science and technology curricula can benefit greatly from their determination, ideas, and intellect. More importantly, this female-majority team is trying to pave the way for more women, especially women of African origin, to join the ever increasing STEM community.
Even though there are many young people in Tanzania who are interested in robotics and engineering, they rarely find the necessary resources or spaces to materialize their ideas. Using FIRST Global as a platform for technological development is, for many of them, a once in a life-time opportunity.
