Team Accommodations

Most teams will be staying approximately 2 blocks away from Constitution Hall at George Washington University’s Thurston Hall.

General Information


We arranged that the total cost of 6 nights of lodging actually costs less than the total costs for 4 nights, so rooms will be available for teams from July 14 to July 20. The Opening Ceremony will be on July 16 and the Closing Ceremony on July 18. Teams should make travel arrangements in order to arrive on July 14 and leave on either July 19 or July 20.

Things you should consider bringing:

  • Toiletries
    • shampoo/conditioner
    • soap/body wash
    • toothbrush/toothpaste
    • deodorant
  • Power adaptors (Type A and/or Type B)
  • Chargers

What not to bring:

  • Candles and incense
  • Flammable liquids
  • Alcohol
  • Illegal drugs or drug paraphernalia

All residence halls are furnished with:

  • Twin-sized bed
  • Desk
  • Closet or wardrobe
  • Internet (wifi)

Guests will also receive:

  • Hand soap and toilet paper
  • Linens, pillow, a pillowcase, blanket, and bath towel

  • Laundry facilities on site
  • Coin operated
  • Laundry detergent not provided
  • Hot water and electricity provided

  • Check-in occurs at 3:00pm
  • The adult mentor/coach of each country’s team will review the participant roster and room assignments and sign for all keys and access cards
  • The adult mentor/coach of each country’s team will also receive all keys and access cards for their participants

The adult mentor/coach who receives the keys and access cards upon check-in will be responsible for turning in the keys and access cards upon check-out. The mentor/coach will be provided a pre-labeled envelope upon check-in that is to be used to hand in the keys upon check-out.

  • A charge of $150 will be applied to your account for lost keys and $50 for lost access cards
  • Once a team returns their keys and access cards you will not have access to your building or rooms, please plan your travel and luggage needs accordingly
  • Rooms must be cleaned to the point where they can be broom swept at check-out, and any rooms requiring additional cleaning will incur an added cost

Hint: Keep all keys and access cards organized by both room and participant so any lost charges can be assessed to the correct individual on your team, as desired.
