Team United States of America 2020 🇺🇸

Team United States of America is comprised of high-school students from FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) Team 9879, Root Negative One, of Springdale, Arkansas. Five former members of our team represented our country at the 2019 FIRST Global Challenge in Dubai. At the 2019-2020 FTC Arkansas Championship, Root Negative One was honored to be the recipient of the Inspire Award. The Inspire Award recognizes a top FTC team for their excellence in engineering design, community engagement, innovation, and Gracious Professionalism. Root Negative One previously won Inspire Awards at the 2018-2019 FTC World Championship in Houston, the 2018-2019 FTC Alabama Championship, the 2017-2018 FTC Arkansas Championship, and the 2015-2016 FTC Oklahoma Championship. As a team, our vision is to sustain our reputation as an internationally-competitive FTC program that excels in mechanical design, control systems, and community. Since our team was founded in 2015, we have actively sought out opportunities to support FIRST, STEM, and our community. In 2019-2020, we mentored rookie FIRST LEGO League (FLL) team comprised entirely of students with autism, as well as several FLL Jr teams in our community. We are working with local professionals to advocate for the implementation of FLL Jr programs in all public schools in our city. We are incredibly grateful to have the opportunity to represent our country and our community as part of the FIRST Global Challenge. We look forward to working and connecting with our peers from all over the world.
