Team Brazil 2018

Team Brazil – The Brazilian Trail Blazers

Team Brazil is composed of 30 members among students, mentors and volunteers. Our students are from different schools of the metropolitan region of Porto Alegre in southern Brazil. Together, we form the FRC team 1772 – The Brazilian Trail Blazers.

In the 2018 season, we participated in the Festival de Robotique in Montréal, where we were extremely proud to receive with the Chairman’s Award and the Woodie Flowers Finalist Award. Previously, during the 2017 season, our team participated in two regionals in Sydney, Australia – where we were Champions of the regional and also had a female student nominee as a Dean’s List Finalist. In the years of 2015, 2016 and 2017; we represented Brazil at the China Robotics Challenge, being prized many times for the work we developed together with the Chinese teams.

Our mission is to stimulate kids of all ages (especially the ones from Brazilian public schools) to broaden their knowledge about STEAM areas through practical and theoretical activities (while still having fun). Our team’s project is to teach young people about the importance of the responsible use and growing of technology for us to build a better future. To that end, we use robotics as a tool to solve social problems inside our community. Also, we work within FIRST to support other categories, like FLL.
