25 يوليو Team Mexico 2019 🇲🇽
There are a lot of things to say about a country. We can talk about its culture, its history, or its gastronomy, but in Team Mexico we like to talk about its people and their power to create and to work together as a whole. Sponsored by Fundación Azteca, we are formed with members and mentors of the FRC team Cerbotics 4400 and the FTC team Cerbotics 15600. Team Cerbotics 4400 was formed in 2011 as part of an initiative by MetMex Peñoles and Colegio Cervantes de Torreon. Since it was one of the first FRC teams in the region, they had to set a standard to the other FRC teams to be opened. Through the years, Team Cerbotics 4400 has acquired a notorious ability in Safety (Safety Award 2014, 2016, 2018 and 2019), Business (Entrepreneurship Award 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019) and a genuine advance by being the recipient team of the Chairman’s Award for three years in a row (2017, 2018 and 2019). In 2018, Cerbotics opened their first FTC team, Cerbotics 15600. In their rookie year, they got the Winning Alliance Award in the North Zone Regional and in the National Championship, as well as the Judges’ Award and the Control Award. In 2019, Team Cerbotics got the opportunity to show their skills and participate in the National Selection Competition for the 2019 FIRST Global Challenge, in which we were the winners, and consequently, the team selected to represent Mexico in Dubai this October. We are taking our top abilities and looking forward to giving the best for us and for our country.
Jorge Venegas – My name is Jorge Venegas. I’m 17 years old. I’m proud to say that I’m Team Mexico’s captain for this year. Also, I am part of the programming team. I really like working with my teammate Miguel developing new structures of coding and innovating in everything we can. It is a dream come true being part of the team in this opportunity. Since last year I decided to be part of FIRST Global, serving as a volunteer. I am really excited and I can’t wait to exchange my knowledge with all people possible around the world. I would like to study Aerospace Engineering and to apply all the knowledge acquired helping others. I have always said: “At the end of the day, if we don’t use what we have learned to help, teach, or inspire others, it won’t be worth it”.
Miguel de León – I’m Miguel Angel de Leon Adame, I am 16 years old and my passion is technology. I see Team Mexico as a great opportunity to improve our abilities to the top. On the team I work as a programmer due to my interest for computers and code development. I hope to play a big role as a team and also show Mexican people that the way to advance humanity is through science and technology. I hope to study Biomedical Engineering.
Daniel Nuñez – I’m Jose Daniel Nuñez Gomez. I am 15 years old and my role on the team is being in charge of the communication area. My motivation for being here is to represent Mexico in a world-scale competition. I want to be a mechatronic Engineer in the future.
Sophia Cote – I’m Alma Sophia Cote García, 17 years old, and I’m part of the communication area. My principal reasons for participating in this competition is because robotics has always been something very attractive for me, and the to develop myself not only in science and technology, but also in administrative areas make me want to be part of this. I also want to show the women of my community that we can also be part of projects like this and go very far. Some of my future plans are to study astrophysics and to get more women in my community interested in science and technology.
Samir Chaman – My name is Samir Chaman Serna and I’m the leader of the mechanics area. My work is to create and improve the mechanisms that can be used on the robot. I’m on the robotics team because I like to create and learn things related to science and technology, and also because on Team Mexico I have the opportunity to represent my country in something that I really like. In the future I want to open an international enterprise.
Ivan Samaniego – My name is Ivan Aurelio Samaniego Becerril, and I’m currently studying in my first year of high school. I’m 14 years old. My main motivation to participate and be a part of the team is the coexistence between the Team Members. Thanks to FIRST, it really feels like one big family because we are always together for the same reason: Robotics. I hope to continue being part of this family in the future.
Ricardo Salazar – Being the spokesperson for Mexico’s FIRST Global Team is an enormous responsibility and at the same time an amazing opportunity. We have the option of putting our nation at the top of the competition. Our efforts are now set to reach our goals and arrive in Dubai with the best of every aspect of us, therefore we can show the world what we are made of and place our country at the top and also get to know a lot of people that share the same pleasure for competing and acquiring new knowledge. I hope to do my best and contribute to every nation working together for the sake of science and technology.
Leo Salazar – I’m Leo Salazar and I am the Technical Mentor of Team Mexico. Being part of this team itself is one big motivation in my daily life; this is an opportunity to grow and challenge myself to get out of my comfort zone. My one goal in life is to transcend through the lessons I teach to the students and also learn from all the people that I get to know. This is why FGC is the perfect competition for me, it helps me to get to know many different minds, opinions and cultures. I hope the best for all the teams attending and I hope that we have so much fun learning from one another.
Max Cuevas – My name is Max Cuevas, and I’m the Head coach of the 2019 Mexican FIRST Global Challenge Team. We are all taking the best of ourselves, and we know that being here represents an enormous responsibility, but we also know that there is no bigger pride than representing our country and its people. We are ready to place high not only our efforts, but more importantly, our nation.
