Team Switzerland 2019 🇨🇭

Building robots has been our passion for a couple of years now. We are a team of youngsters living in the beautiful landscape east of Zürich and going to school in this area. Last year the veterans of the team attended the FGC event and were very impressed of the venue and of all the young people from all over the world. They decided to form a FTC team and to compete in the Dutch Championship and to pass their knowhow to us rookies. The presence of lynxes in our region inspired us to call ourselves Highland-Lynxes. Currently, we’re attending high-school or junior high-school and plan to continue our career on a technical path.

Nico
I’m close to graduating from high-school. I’ve always wanted to be an engineer and I love analysing complicated mechanisms. My dream is to study mechanical engineering at the ETH in Zürich. I started robotics six years ago and it has become my passion since, accompanying me through all my high-school years. This is my second year in this team and I am excited to see what we can achieve as a team and as alliances at the FIRST Global Challenge.

Stephan
I am 16 years old and I am a student in the mathematic profile at high-school where I could expand my knowledge about robotics. I always loved to solve STEM-based problems and robotics is a great way to do so. I still have to go to school two more years but then I want to study something closely related to robotics. I’ve competed in national and international competitions and now I’m looking forward to participating in this new challenge.

Ronny
I’m the youngest of the current team. My career intention is into a STEM-oriented profession by following vocational education. With my more practical skills I can bring new aspects into building and programming robots. Moreover, I like to use my organizational skills, which I acquired in the youth organization. I’m fascinated how robots come to life and perform specific tasks, especially for cleaning the ocean from pollutants at this year in FGC in Dubai.

It’s our pleasure to represent Switzerland in this robotics olympics – to meet and to interact with young people from our planet. See you soon in Dubai.
