Team Ghana 2020 🇬🇭

The 2020 Team is made up of an all-girls team from Methodist Girls’ High School. It is a public school located at the Eastern Region of Ghana. It is one of the leading schools in Robotics in Ghana. The school has once won a world competition in Robotics which is not under FIRST. The team is made up of 10th and 11th grade students who have passion for STEM. The have severally embarked on STEM.

Team Members

GENEVIEVE ASIEDU DARKO (TEAM LEAD) – Genevieve is an 11th grade student who is very skillful with a passion for engineering. She is the master builder in the school’s club and a team player when it comes complex tasks. She loves to solve problems in her community using STEM solution. She led her team to win the 2020 FIRST Lego League national competition. She was part of the team that designed the Robot that won the World Robofest Challenge in 2019. Genevieve wants to be an auto engineer to solve complex challenges within the automobile industry.

SANDRA YEBOAH – Sandra is a 12th Grade student and the President of the Robotics Club in her school. She is jovial and carries a lot of smiles at all time. Always the best in her class and top three in her year group of over 700 students. She loves coding and playing with machines. Sandra was a member of the team that won the Robofest 2019 and the national FLL Team. Sandra wants to be a Biomedical Engineer. Her hobbies are dancing and Reading.

KEREN AKUOKO SARPONG – She is 17 years. She comes from Kumasi in the Ashanti Region. Ghana’s city full of rich tradition She loves reading about everything STEM. She is currently a 2nd year student of the Methodist Girls’ High School. She is an active member of the school’s robotics club and was a member of the winning team of the 2019 Robofest world championship. She plays an active role in teams’ media presentation

BEATRICE AWAKEY – Beatrice is a very hardworking student who will never bypass any activity that needs a quick solution. She is an active member of the Robotics club in her school. She was a team member in the Pan African Robotics Challenge in 2019.

ADWOA KONADU – Adwoa is a 10th grader whose passion is coding. She loves reading, singing and dancing. During her leisure time she enjoys watching documentaries related to technology and engineering. She wants to pursue piloting or aeronautic engineering as a career.

ANNIE OFFEI – My name is Annie Adobea Offei. I am 16 years old. I attend Methodist Girl’s High School and am in my second year. My interests include robotics, reading, Knitting and working on complex projects. I am a member of the robotics team of my school and involved in the building and programming team.

DOROTHY AMMON – I am Dorothy Naa Kuorkor Amon. I am 15 years of age. I am a 10th grader student in Methodist Girls’ High School. I love to learn about how things work and how to create and put things together. I also love art. I see robotics as a very interesting area of study. Detection of problems and finding innovative ways to solve them are all a part of robotics. It meets my interests and I want to take it on.
