Having grown up in Rwanda just a few short years after the tragic horrors that shook the small African nation to its core, the members of Team Rwanda know better than most that in order to successfully address the real challenges of the world, you need to have the capacity to engage with others to make a difference.

This knowledge drives the men and women of Team Rwanda to acquire the science, technology, engineering, and mathematics skills they will need to pursue careers that will equip them to become innovators in their respective fields, inspire their fellow citizens to close their nation’s skills gap, and accelerate Rwanda’s socio-economic growth.

With these goals in mind, Team Rwanda is participating in the FIRST Global Challenge precisely because they can bring their ideals and enthusiasm to Washington, DC this July, where they will be able to get a head start on their plans to transform their nation – and the world – by using STEM to engage with their peers at the 2017 FIRST Global Challenge.
