Team Thailand 2019 🇹🇭

The students on Team Thailand are honored to represent their country. The team is composed of 5 members and 3 mentors. The students on this team are brought together by their focused mission: finding ways to use robotics to make positive impacts on the world around them. Many of the students on the team have participated and won awards in the FIRST LEGO® League competition and encouraged our school to start up a FIRST Technology Challenge team.

These students have been an inspiration to their fellow students. In previous years, they have worked with FIRST LEGO® League Jr students and this year they are also mentoring the new FIRST LEGO® League students. They truly have exemplified the FIRST core values.

They are excited to build a robot for the Global stage and meet other students from around the world. They are meeting with experts in Thailand that have started organizations for helping reduce and recycle plastic entering the oceans. They are meeting with experts that find ways to reuse materials that currently cannot be recycled. They are excited to share their new knowledge and ideas with others at the FIRST Global Challenge and hopefully find ways that they can help make their positive impact on the world.

Please feel free to contact us on our social media to find out how you can work with us in our mission!

Kanyanat Sunchatavirul (Noinah): Team captain. For the last few years I have been interested in STEM education and I think that this will be the new future. I have just been engaged in the FIRST organization for just 1-2 years but because of FIRST, I have been able to meet other people around Thailand. As team captain, I am really honored to be leading Team Thailand to compete with other nations and also meeting other team leaders to make a change and make the world a better place.

Nonthakarn Utamee (Noni) Spokesperson. This is my first time ever to join an event from the FIRST organization and the first time ever to join robotics. At first, I join robotics because I want to meet a new group of people. I wanted to learn from experts and learn to be more of a professional. I believe that robotics will influence many parts of cultures and that It will make positive impacts on the world. It is an honor to be a part of TEAM THAILAND, as a spokesperson I will try my best to share the culture of Thailand and also learn from other cultures throughout the competition.

Vivien LeepromI always dreamed of working in a job related to science, but I still couldn’t find myself yet. Every time I think of it, there are tons of thoughts about what I would like to be. Sometimes it’s astronomical, or sometimes it’s medical, or even something completely opposite like writing or film making. Then, I joined my first robotics competition 3 years ago. It was stressful, but I still enjoyed it. At first, I joined because I just want to try it, but I find I experience something new everyday. Every time I learn, my paths become more clear. I want to be an engineer. Every FIRST competition I’ve competed in is not only a learning competition, it is also a friendship competition, and a chance to challenge myself. It’s also about finding and learning more about myself; finding my future.

Aung Hein (Jack) Khant: Team support and engineer. Ever since I first saw transformers when I was young, I fell in love with robots and became interested in how they can move and what can they do. I also think robots are the future, because later in our lives we will start to use robotic technology to build and colonize other planets. Plus we are already using the robotic technology in medicine and science. I feel like FIRST is giving me an opportunity to study and experience the joy of teamwork, global community, and new ideas from around the world. I can’t wait to meet many new, interesting, and amazing people from all over the world at the upcoming FIRST Global Challenge.

Thanat Ingkhasurawat (Dan): Member. This competition is going to be my first competition that involves robotics. The reason I joined robotics is because I want to try something new and interesting. I also thought that we should help the environment, one way to do it is removing waste from the water which connects with this competition’s theme Ocean Opportunities. Another reason I decided to join is that I wanted to get better at robotics and this competition can really help me with that by meeting professionals and experts. As a member of the robotics team I will try my best to support my team and spread the culture of Thailand.

And from the mentors, Justin Worboys, Teerani (Top) Sutthipansakul, and Maria Sinsap, we would like to extend our sincere appreciation for giving us this opportunity and for hosting such a wonderful event!
