Team Uruguay 2019 🇺🇾

We are really happy to represent our country in such an important challenge. It means a great opportunity for us, as a way to learn, developing our skills in STEM. But also as a way to get involved with different cultures, sharing moments, experiences, and knowledge with others.

We are a group of five students from Migues High School, it is located in a small town in the south of Uruguay, with only two thousand people. As a consequence, it is an opportunity for us and also for the whole town, which is living the experience with us.

We feel truly involved with the aim, believing in the power and influence from each one who takes part in this challenge. This is furthering their dedication to robotics as a way to keep building knowledge, improving the future of youth, the biggest goal is to share, with all the teams, our enthusiasm and willingness to make a change through STEM, as a crucial way to solve or improve the problem of ocean pollution.

Teenagers are leading the initiative, showing how important it is for the world, dedicating hours of engagement and study to finally get an excellent result, overcoming the obstacles in the way. It brings an attitude strongly responsible and dedicated, which is reflected in our team. The whole team has the same goal, commitment, and enthusiasm, so every one of us is giving the best of their self to contribute, boosting and overcoming weakness with the help of each other, because that is our spirit.

We believe in the strength of teamwork to obtain good results, also transferring this concept to the relationship with other delegations.

Tobías: I participate in FIRST Global because I really like robotics, I consider it as a way to make our lives easier. I like to share my experience in robot assembly with others and listen to their experiences as well. The fact that many countries are participating motivates me a lot because it is an opportunity to meet people all around the world, and also to know about their culture and share experiences with them.

Agustín: I have participated in FIRST LEGO® League for three years, which has motivated me in part to participate in this competition, which I believe will have a very positive impact on my life. I believe that the FIRST Global Challenge is a competition that allows us to observe the impact that technology can have to solve environmental problems. We have a practical view of robots and I am specifically excited to be able to build and program it. I also think that being able to share with teams around the world is an exceptional experience.

Luciana: I consider robotics a source of opportunities for young people, since having this type of experience enriches our knowledge and allows us to have a better future. This competition means a lot to me because it allows me to interact with young people from all over the world and learn about their cultures.

Gonzalo: I will participate in such an important event because of the benefits it carries. I joined the team this year after receiving the invitation of two colleagues with whom I have worked in previous years. It will be an extraordinary competition that will undoubtedly meet my expectations.

Victoria: Robotics brings the possibility to improve more than STEM skills, personal abilities in which you learn how to work in a team for a common goal, giving the best of yourself, helping others and being involved in environmental activities.
