A first. Madagascar is indeed present at the FIRST Global Challenge, an international robotics competition. The Malagasy team of six students aged between 16 and 19 years, led by Sahaza Ramarosandy arrived in the land of Uncle Sam on Friday to participate in this international challenge. The competition was officially opened yesterday in Washington DC.

El FIRST Global Challenge is an annual event that showcases young scientific talent from around the world, allowing them to create robots that will bring solutions to major global challenges. This year, the theme will be on access to drinking water, and this is the first time that “Team Madagascar” has participated in this type of competition of this size. One hundred and sixty countries will be present to contest July 16 to 18 in the US capital.
