A worldwide challenge with a difference. That was the FIRST Global Challenge which took place in Mexico and was attended by Presentation College students, Avidesh Marajh and Raydon Baboolal.
Teams had to design a robot to complete engineering tasks to achieve energy efficiency.
The boys say the experience was less combative than cooperative.
The theme of the competition focused on energy and how the world’s problems can be solved with the innovative solutions the youth devised.
The talented teenagers won four games and placed 57th out of 183 competitors.
Their sterling effort did not allow them a chance into the final playoffs but now that they are home, they intend to use their experience to begin a local Robotics Association.
