Team Timor-Leste 2019 🇹🇱

Timor-Leste just celebrated 20 years since voting for independence and a lot has happened here since then. Not many people know about us, but we are a beautiful island country with low-income. We all come from an International School in the centre of the capital Dili. Our team is made up of people from Timor-Leste, the Philippines, India, and Australia.  We are a young team and everything we have done to this competition was the first experience we had in robotics, but since we started we have met with politicians and business leaders and we have presented our ideas to other students in the local area and to entrepreneurs. We want to build aqua-robots in the future to protect our biodiverse oceans. Did you know Timor-Leste’s Atauro Island has the most biodiverse waters in the world?

Our plan is to share our experience with the locals and schools around Dili and hopefully set up our own competition so we can practice and learn with the other schools in our local area. At the moment we are the only people in Timor that are doing this program, so we have a chance to lead the country in the next exciting phase of development.

We can’t wait to meet all the people around the world and see what they have invented and to continue learning from everyone and most of all we can’t wait to make new friends. We want to introduce Timor-Leste to the rest of the world.
