FEM gives robotic kids $1,000

Electrical innovator Amos Vandy and Computer Programmer Daniel McWilliams have received a $1,000 USD from Bishop Abu of the Flaming Evangelical Ministries (FEM) to help them with their scholarship to study abroad. The two are part of a team that represented Sierra Leone at the recently concluded robotic competition in Washington DC.

Amos, who received a scholarship to study at the African Leadership University in Mauritius, said he is “delighted and gratful” to Bishop Abu noting that the Bishop’s contribution meant a lot especially the love he showed and his prayers. “I pray we have more Sierra Leoneans like Bishop,” he said.

Daniel who will be going to San Francisco, California to study programming said, “I am lost for words.” He thanked the Bishop for his kind gesture and also called on young Sierra Leones to make use of the Internet and search for more opportunities to build their own capacity instead of socializing on the social media.
