First international robotic Olympics with student team from Weiz

Vienna / Weiz (APA) – US organization First Global is organizing the first International Robotic Olympiad for High-Level Students in Washington DC (USA) from 16 to 18 July. Teams from 160 countries from all continents participate. Austria is represented by a team of HTL Weiz (Styria).

According to Anton Edl, who teaches at HTL Weiz Elektrotechnik, the “RoboCup” is the largest international robot competition with participants from around 45 nations. He is primarily aimed at high-school institutions, but with a junior track also to pupils. Edl has been extremely successful with his teams over the past years: he won the national qualifying round for the “RoboCupJunior” seven times and won the international competition five times.
