Guyanese youths get GYD$2.5 million support to participate in First Global Robotic Challenge

A team of youths, who will be representing Guyana in the FIRST Global Robotic Challenge in the United States (US) next month, has received support amounting to GYD$2.5 million, the Ministry of the Presidency announced Thursday.

The group is part of the Science, Technology, and Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Guyana Project received the cheque from Minister of Education, Nicolette Henry. Funds were provided by First Lady, Sandra Granger.

Ms. Henry, in brief remarks, said that the Ministry is pleased with and supports the team’s work in the area of STEM Robotics. “I trust that your stay in Washington would be a rewarding one and certainly when you get back here to Guyana you will share with your friends and colleagues some of the things you would have learnt,” she said.
