PARAMARIBO – 16-year-old Ivana Codrington (16), Ayan Jhagroe (16), 18-year-old Shayant Sital and mentor Daniel Lachman will represent Surinam from 16 to 18 July during the inaugural FIRST Global Challenge in Washington. The team will prove with a self-propelled robot to successfully address the global problem of contaminated river water.
The team got robot parts from America in April. The members made their own design and called their “Swipe Teki” robot. The robot is not finished yet, but is programmed to meet the requirements of the competition. There will be several games played from two to three minutes. Each national team will play a total of six games.
