Team Algeria 2017

The Algerian Robotics Team is excited to participate for the very first time in a worldwide robotics competition. Primarily composed of high school students, our team hails from across Algeria. We began our robotics journey with Lego Robotics workshops at the Algiers STEAM Center and as part of a larger STEAM camp that gathered over 200 students from all corners of the country in August and December 2016 to experience hands-on activities from diverse STEAM fields. These STEAM experiences encouraged us to delve into the multi-faceted world of science and technology and reinforced our values of teamwork, curiosity and innovation. The robotics team was built in January 2017 on this foundation, with the vision of an ever-growing team of curious, solution-oriented, life-long learners. Through the robotics competition, we aim to develop our skills in engineering, programming, presentation, teamwork and leadership. We envision a healthy competition between team robots alongside a broader alliance of teams built on collaboration and mutual understanding in a unified effort to address the Global Grand Challenges through STEM education. We look forward to meeting a large pool of teams from around the world with whom we will enhance our skills, but more importantly build bridges of understanding and friendship. We are counting down the days to the challenge kick-off!
