Team Andorra 2019 🇦🇩

The Andorran Robotic Team is composed by five members and a mentor. Most members of this team have already participated in the FIRST Global Challenge in Mexico City. All of the members of this team love robotics and are very concerned about the conservation of the environment, because despite living in a country situated in the mountains far away from the sea and the ocean (which is the topic of this edition), we are very aware of the importance of the preservation of our oceans. Even though we live in a small country, this is a big opportunity for us to compete against the biggest technological powers of the world. We are coming to do our best, so be careful. The six team members are Pol, Jorge, Gaël, Isaac, Eloi and Mario (the mentor) are all described below.

Pol Castillo: The captain. I’ve always been interested in scientific and technological subjects, especially in math, biology and chemistry. I’ve participated in more than 15 national and international projects like the last edition of the FIRST Global Challenge and the UNESCO youth symposium. I think the FIRST Global Challenge is special because every year it challenges me to do my best in my favorite subjects.

Jorge Romero: The programmer. I’m a student of the Andorran public A grade. My favorite subjects in school are physics and programming. I participated in the last FIRST Global edition as a Human player.

Gaël Lopez: The robot technician. Technology is one of my main passions, that’s why I’m studying a technological A grade. I’ve had this passion since I was very young when I played with LEGOs. If I have the opportunity, I would love to study and work as a mechanic or robotic engineer.

Isaac “Cabases”: The Robot technician. I’m the youngest member of the team. I’ve always liked to disassemble robots, toasters, computers or any technological item to build new objects and work with them. In a near future I would like to pursue a technological, but also artistic, career.

Eloi Correia: The Driver. Right now I’m studying in the scientific Andorran A grade because in the near future I would like to become a robotic engineer. I also love athletics and I’ve represented my country in 5 sport competitions. I hope that like the last edition, this year’s FIRST Global Challenge gives me the opportunity to became a robotic engineer for a few days.

Mario Giménez: The Mentor. I can only describe my relation with robotics as a passion. I started competing as the first Andorran team to participate in the FIRST LEGO League and it gives me pride to see how this field has evolved in Andorra and how the new generations (like my students) are interested in robotics and science.

From the Andorran Robotic Team we want to express our gratitude to all our sponsors who make our participation in this event possible.
