Team Hungary 2019 🇭🇺

We are team Hungary, Milán Szabó, Dávid Fey, Balázs Bender, Ambrus Tóth and Kevin Caballero-Séllei. We are all from the same high school, Fazekas Mihály High School. After a tough Hungarian qualification, we got the chance to represent our country at the 2019 FIRST Global Challenge.

We applied for this competition because we share the goal of FIRST Global, which is to raise awareness for our oceans. This is really important because we are polluting our planet faster than ever before. It’s really depressing to sense sea life disappearing. We truly support the idea of cleaning our oceans and we are ambitious to take steps for a better future.

Since a young age, all of us have been interested in technology because we have seen how mankind can overcome a lot of problems with ingenuity, and we think the next step is robotics.

We wholeheartedly believe that new, intuitive ideas can save loads of people’s life or they can give them opportunities to live in better conditions and have a happier life. This is why we chose robotics as our passion.

The technical side of the contest is really challenging and our team will be facing problems through the learning and preparation process, but we are motivated to solve them by helping each other out and sharing our knowledge. We are different, some of us better in areas like programming, while others are talented in building; this is why we must have a diverse team to achieve the best outcome. That’s why communication is key. A positive, cooperating team can make a difference. We all competed in other robotics competitions, so we have some experience in this field and we know that working diligently will have its results.

We are the successors to an exceptional team, which achieved excellent placements. It could be pressure but for us, it’s a motivating factor to be even better.
