09 Sep São Tomé and Príncipe participates in the FIRST Global Challenge

With a team of 8 young people, from 15 to 17 years old, São Tomé and Príncipe is participating in the FIRST Global Challenge. These students, all studying at the Portuguese School, completed the first phase of the ‘ SolutionsChallenge’ . Over the course of 4 months, they focused on creating a value proposition that benefits the Environment of our country, as the vitality of the family and national economy is heavily dependent on the sustainable exploitation of the natural resources we have.

After several advances and setbacks, these students conceived a prototype of a tourist transport vehicle, for guided tours in the capital city, powered by solar energy. In this way, the use of clean energy, the so-called green mobility, is promoted in our country, which is so dependent on the combustion of fossil energy.
