Each student has a vested interest in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) subjects and is also involved in their school’s robotics club. All of our members have participated in robotics competitions such as the FIRST Lego League (FLL) and FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) at the national level, and have now come together to take on the FIRST Global Challenge in Geneva, Switzerland this October. We are particularly invested in this year’s theme, Carbon Capture. Several of our team members have a personal interest in environmental sciences and the conservation of nature, and thus we are well aware of the undeniable necessity of reducing carbon emissions in the international fight against global warming. Team Jamaica is ready to compete fiercely and represent our island nation well, all while maintaining the FIRST® spirit of gracious professionalism. All in all, we could not be more excited to compete in this year’s FIRST Global Challenge!
