Bolivian Cochabamba team represents the country in the FIRST Global Challenge “Robotics World Cup”

(Translated from Spanish)

The Illapabot team from Cochabamba, made up of students Sandra Arias, Bernal Heidi and Juan Pablo Aranibar, was the winner of the fourth Robotics Tournament organized by Tu Beca Bolivia and which took place last weekend through virtual platforms.

More than 300 teams from all over the country participated in this tournament and 100 were selected, who competed by completing three challenges.

Achieving this merit, Illapabot currently represents Bolivia in the FIRST Global Challenge Robotics World Cup that began June 27 and in which more than 165 countries participate. It is the first team from Cochabamba to represent the country in this international event.

To achieve first place, the team first made a video introducing their department and each member. The second challenge consisted of assembling a gel dispenser with available materials at their fingertips, for which the team used the Python programming language and the Lego Mindstorms EV3 Robotics Kit. The last challenge was carried out in live transmission, and consisted of assembling a Goldberg machine, which performs a simple task through chain reactions.
