Chilean team participates in robotics competition “FIRST Global”

Girls in Tech Chile is a foundation since 2014 that promotes female participation in science and technology, forming part of a US NGO of the same name present in 60 countries.

From the experience, the Ingeniosas program was created to promote vocations of women of school age in the STEM fields. The central celebration of this program last April was attended by over 30 organizations, both public and private. Ingenious was present in five cities of the country, impacting more than 2,000 girls between 8th and 2nd half.

Macarena Abarca attended middle school in a school in the commune of La Florida in the Chilean capital, and for a year she has participated in several robotics tournaments. Based on their participation in Corazón de Chile, the coordinators of the FIRST competition invited her to organize a team and participate in the first competition focused on international diversity of the group.
