Kuala Pilah: Five students of Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Tunku Besar Burhanuddin (SMKTBB), Seri Menanti, were selected to represent Malaysia in the First Global Challenge (Virtual Competition) 2020.
The five participants involved two Form Five students, namely Muhammad Faiz Fakhrullah Zulkarnain, Imran Syakir Azmi and Faris Haikal Faizel Azrim as well as two Form Four students, Mohamad Qassiem Iqbal Mohamad Adnan and Abu Hurairah Jafri.
Team leader Mohamad Qassiem Iqbal said the competition from July 18 to September 25 was supposed to be held in Tokyo, Japan, but due to the Covid-19 outbreak, the competition format was changed and held online.
He said, SMKTBB was among the two schools selected to represent the country apart from Sekolah Menengah Sains Hulu Terengganu (SAHUT), Terengganu.
“In this competition, we need to complete a total of 25 assignments involving various aspects including the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education.
“We have to send each assignment not only in the form of writing, but pictures and videos,” he said when met at the school, today.
Mohamad Qassiem Iqbal said, the challenge this time is very intense because it is joined by 174 countries in the world.Original Story
