(Translated from Greek)

The Greek National Team Robotics «FIRST Global Challenge Team Greece» year represents Greece in the global competition the 2020 FIRST Global Challenge, which is being performed digitally for the first time -thanks to the pandemic- from 1 the July to September 23 entitled «Connecting Communities » .

The “FIRST Global Challenge Team Greece” is an initiative of the Educational – Non-Profit Association eduACT – Action for Education and consists of children aged 13-18 years from all over Greece. Criteria for their selection were their knowledge in programming and robotics, their involvement with the sciences and finally, their experience from participation in respective national and world competitions. The members of Team Greece worked intensively throughout the summer aiming at another distinction for our country!

At a time when physical presence is impossible, FIRST Global, on the occasion of STEM, invited 174 National Teams from around the world to stay connected through weekly social and technical challenges. The social challenges are themed in such a way as to enhance the interaction between the groups and to promote the culture of each country. The techniques aim to keep teams experimenting, discovering new useful design tools and creating virtual robots, thinking out of the box and collaborating remotely. The teams submit their work for each challenge in electronic form, so that it is evaluated and graded by the judges, while at the same time they share it with the other teams worldwide through social media.

Once again, STEM and educational robotics became an opportunity for young people from all over the world to meet, share ideas and experiences, exchange views, learn, discover, inspire and inspire and above all, stay active and connected in an environment of global health crisis and social isolation!
