Team Albania is comprised of several students from many schools in the capital city, and surrounding cities Elbasan, Shijak and Durres. It’s members are Julian Grori (Student) from Technical Electrical School “Gjergj Canco”, Marko Berberi (Student) from “Sami Frasheri” High School, Donaldo Biba (Student) from “Sami Frasheri” High School, John Shkembi (Student) from “Imelda Lambertini” School, Dario Cenko (Alternate Student) from “Arben Broci” High School, Kristi Leka (Alternate Student) from Multifunctional Vocational School Kamez, Mateo Doka (Alternate Student) from “Kushtrimi Lirise” Durres, Holger Xhameta (Alternate Student) from Protagonist School, Besnik Zylka (Mentor) and Elvira Cokaj (Mentor).

It is a great honor for us to be given the chance to compete in the FIRST Global Challenge taking place in Washington D.C, USA, this July. Because it is the first time for us as students participating in a FIRST competition or event, we are more than just excited to find out what lies ahead of us. We can’t wait to interact with other students from all over the world, learn more about their ideas of the future and discover new ways of cooperating and having fun. After all, isn’t that what FIRST is all about – bringing STEM leaders of the future together to combine their ideas and learn from each-other.

Being a team of students of different ages and from different schools and cities, has already enabled us to understand how important diversity really is when working together as a team. More ideas from different perspectives are part of succeeding in what we are trying to achieve.

We are very excited and we are looking forward to meeting all of you!

Greetings from Team Albania!
