Hello, we are Team Bosnia and Herzegovina from Mostar, our Highschool is ”Druga gimnazija Mostar” and our Team is part of the Center for Education, Robotics, Innovation and technology. In our team there are seven members with our mentor and professor Anes Hadžiomerović. What brought this team together was our shared passion for robots and technology, although that is not the only thing that defines us. We are truly excited to pass on the inspiration that FIRST Global has instilled in us. All of us are looking forward to a great event and meeting all of you this year in August. See you in Mexico!

Team members:

Umihana Mulać:
I am 18 years old. I am in my third year at “Druga gimanzija Mostar” high school in Bosnia and Herzegovina and that’s a source of all goals in my life. When you are spending your days with people who want to do something better or something new; even you as yourself wish to invest your maximum in every new challenge, so do I. I think that every new day is a new opportunity you need to use. Last year our IT professor introduced us to robotics, which had a huge impact on me. It’s something that demands lots of effort and patience, but in the end you can only be proud of your own results. My opinion is that robotics can ease our everyday life. Besides that, I am a big fan of programming and working on the computer. My great ambition is travelling, because I look forward to meeting new people, places and cultures. My free time I spend on reading books, biographies and watching movies.

Irfan Marić:

I am a gentle, hardworking and dependable student with good communication and team working skills, who possesses a pleasant personality. I am well disciplined, industrious, responsible and helpful team worker capable of dealing with various tasks assigned.

Dženita Gadara:
I go to High school at “Druga gimnazija Mostar” and I am in my third year. When I finish High school; I would like to go into electrical engineering or university of computer science, so I like robotics and programming. Today’s sudden development of hi-tech makes great precondition for ROBOTICS! With reference to the above mentioned lineup, we can associate the fact that many business people are trying to make their robot-miracle, and make money on that patent! It is difficult to predict how the future of this world will look like, but we all expect great discoveries in the fields of robotics, energy, etc. Robots will become a complete substitute for man, he will perform even the same processes as man. We can conclude that most of these facts already have very good preconditions for reliving!

Lejla Marić:
I live in Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina. I am 18 years old and in my free time I practice dance and karate. I’ve been dancing for 10 years. I like to listen to music, read books, and I’m very interested in robotics. Throughout my schooling my favorite subject is informatics. All the small parts of robots that need to be connected and programmed are really interesting to me. There is always something new that gives me an adventure and a desire for research. I suppose this kind of interest in me arouses calmness, care and patience. I like to work in a group and I respect others opinions. I volunteer and often organize humanitarian actions in order to help those who need help. It makes me happy to make other people happy.

Amila Čagalj:
I was born in Sweden but since I was 4 years old I’ve lived in Mostar. I’m 17 years old and I’m attending 3rd grade of Druga gimnazija Mostar, high school in Mostar. I’m very social and responsible person. I’m great team player and I always try hard to achieve more for my team as for myself as well. I really like computers and I owe a big level of knowledge in MS office, Internet etc. I always want to learn more and to achieve more. I like English language and I think that computers and English language are very important for young people who think to become successful and to improve themselves. I see myself as a very ambitious person. I think that every person needs to respect himself and be satisfied with himself to respect and appreciate others.

Our country is very rich with natural beauty and resources. One of the things that gives the energy the most is electricity. We get electricity from hydroelectric power plants which are located on our rivers.Hydroelectric power plants are big resource of electricity and we could export it with better management. Our country possesses also other naturals resources which can be used in better ways. But the key of success of every country are people. Knowledge is the key. When you are educated you cannot be afraid of rise and fall as well.

Energy Situation

We have electricity generated from hydropower plants and thermal power plants in our country, and also some solar panels and windmills, but we think that is not enought. Energy efficiency and renewable energy sources should be used more. Our team will be focused on renewable energy sources.
