31 Jul Team Maldives 2018
We started pretty late due to custom difficulties but our team has persevered. Team Maldives’ plan isn’t just to make a robot, it is to make a champion robot. Thus we as a team are giving everything we can to make this project a successful one. Our team is from Eydhafushi, the capital of the Baa Atoll administrative region of the country. The region we live in is a province made up of 75 islands spread over an area of 127 km2. On top of this, Baa Atoll is under the constant threat of sea level rise due to climate change. Recently, the government was forced to invest in a reclamation project, which almost doubled the size of Eydhafushi by erecting ocean barriers around the area of the island which had been lost.
