Team Lesotho 2019 🇱🇸

We are a team of three girls and two boys who come from different schools in Lesotho. The reason we came together has been our deep love for STEM education and our will to meet with other people from different cultures. We believe in a saying that says “technology is a tool” and we are hoping to use FIRST Global to meet with people from around the world and learn how we can better our country. We hope the collaborations we will make will define the future of the world.

Bohlale Mosebo
She is a mosotho girl who attends school at Lesotho High school in Maseru. She has always been fascinated with science and maths, but this year she decided to broaden her view by taking an ICT class. That’s where she felt a deep passion to use her skills to better her community, the school, and hopefully the entire country. By being part of FIRST Global, she understands the importance of teamwork and the principle of coopertition, which she did not even know before. So in a way, she feels that FIRST Global has already changed her life. She interacts better with her classmates because she looks at challenges differently from how she used to.

Tebello Matjeane
Is a mosotho boy who is 16 years old who attends school at Hlalele high school, The day they were visited by Team Lesotho 2018 at their school, he just knew he had just met his destiny. He had always liked fixing things and building structures and was always performing well on his national science fair competitions. Since joining team Lesotho, most STEM-related lessons have made a lot of sense and he no longer just learns to pass, he learns to apply.

Otsile Phalatsi
She is a 16 year old girl who attends an all-girls school in the rural areas of Maseru called St Mary’s. She knew about FIRST Global back in 2017. She likes machines in general, and she likes playing competitive chess at school and at other local competitions, so she thinks she is a good strategist. She also learned how to program on her  own, so she hopes her skills will help the team to perform better this year.

Manaha Mphatsoane
She is an 18 year old girl who attends school at the Holy Names in Leribe, and she would like to be a computer scientist when she finishes school. Her desire is to meet like-minded people at the FIRST Global Challenge in Dubai this year. She likes programming the robots and doing maths in her spare time. She really enjoys the game of the minds!!

Kefuoe Rapitso
He is 18 years old and attends school at Machabeng International School doing IB2. He is an ordinary guy who likes sports, especially soccer. He also likes watching animated movies, which led to his curiosity towards coding and development of softwares and apps to solve problems or to tell a story. He hopes to collaborate with people from around the world who will help him to see the world differently for the sake of his country. He believes that the skills he will acquire from FIRST Global will benefit his country.
