Team SpringBots South Africa comprises of high school students who have a passion for STEM and robotics. SpringBots South Africa have been on an ongoing campaign to create an awareness of the importance of STEM and robotics for all youth in South Africa. There has been a huge shift on the focus of robotics and coding in South Africa. Starting January 2020, robotics and coding will be introduced into our school’s curriculum. We believe that the future lies in the hands of the youth and that while we cannot change the world, we can positively impact one child’s life at a time.
The team that will be representing South Africa are: Jared Jaleel Reddy – Team Captain who is 16 years old and would like to better the world we live in using robotics and technology. Masana Mashapha, 17 years old and she looks forward to finding new ways to use robotics to clean up our oceans. Lesedi Kgobe, 17 years old, he would like to combat global warming through technology. Noria Senyello, 16 years old and a huge robotics fan. Ahmeel Reddy, 15 years old who loves all things tech.
SpringBots South Africa have gained acknowledgement at Parliament, been featured on CNN as well local TV stations for the work being done in relation to robotics and STEM in our country.
