06 Jul Team Botswana 2021 🇧🇼
2021 FIRST Global team Botswana is made up of 15 students and 2 mentors. Seeing that this year there are no restrictions to the team membership due to the fact that there is no travel and no restrictions in team size, we decided to have 15 students working on the project for greater impact and also to have more brains working on this project. Although we are still facing some problems caused by COVID-19 where some team members are either on isolation or quarantine, having more than 5 students ensures that the project continues, whether some are in isolation or not. The Mentors are Mrs Gaone Karabo, who works as a Senior teacher of Computer Studies in Kagiso Senior Secondary School in Ramotswa Botswana, as well as Mr Chidzani Chester Matebu, a teacher of computer studies in the same school. The team members are all Form 4 students in the same school. 2021 student team members are Ambrocia Ramotiti (F), Mosimanegape Rampefe (M), One Moswang (F), Mana Mosweu (F), Maatla Maxwell Motsisi (M), Lucius Keatsitswe (M), Hellen Diseko (F) Wame Botlhole (F), Mopati Rakhobo (M), Katlo Mosweu (M), Larona Tinashe Batsalelwang (M), Odirile Kgosimore (M), Lorrien Jeremia (F), Tapiwa Popo (M), and Princess Motlogelwa (F). The team was set up in May 2020 after going through a rigorous training and selection program. They were selected from an initial team of 55 after observing their work culture, their drive, and their ability to work well within a team, as well as the varied skills possessed. We hope with the many brains working on the project and the varied skills identified from the student team members this time around that Team Botswana will do well.
