Ethiopia’s team for the 2021 FIRST Global Challenge includes five mentors: Elias, Natan, Amir, Nahom, and Noah, as well as 12 students: Aklile, Sara, Eldana, Dagmawi, Atina, Firaol, Negese, Selam, Hundaol, Nahom L, Rabiyat, and Fenet. We all enjoy programming, playing video games, and coming up with new ideas. We are excited to compete with other students from around the world in a cooperative spirit. Our team was assembled by “FIRST Global Ethiopia”, which was working hard to raise STEM awareness in Ethiopia and increase girls’ participation in STEM fields through competitions like this. This year’s Ethiopian team is driven by a strong desire to represent our country in the global robotics challenge while also attempting to halt the global pandemic through STEM and robotics. Our goal is to win while having fun, learning, forming new and lasting relationships, and, hopefully, inspiring others.
