Dharmi Hussein thrives on tackling challenges and constantly sets goals for herself making sure she has something to strive towards. She is result-oriented and checks in with her goals to determine how far she is to her target, therefore finding such pressure inspiring and a great motivator for herself. Having a passion at such a young age for technology, she realized that her love for technology was because it’s the triumph of the human intellect. The more she studied and understood technology, the more she felt that nothing in the universe was out of reach and no challenge could not be fixed. Her key interests are Artificial intelligence, Robotics and Machine learning. She enjoys reading novels and art.
Sharon Lavin is a passionate upcoming innovator who has strong interest in computers and technology. She was in coding club back in high school where she learnt programing languages such as HTML, Python, and Javascript. She works with clear instructions and deadlines. Sharon is going to pursue a career in computer science once she joins university. Her hobbies are dancing and playing basketball.
Asha Enow is an 18-year-old girl who hails from Moyale in the northern part of Kenya. She completed her Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education in 2020 at Daraja Academy. She comes from a community where girl child education is not valued, but because of the passion that she has for girl child education she managed to go to school. She identifies herself as someone who loves, focuses, a thinker, a believer and a go-getter. While in highschool, she participated in a coding club where she learned about programming languages and intends to pursue a bachelor of science in computer science. Asha has a great passion in technology and would like to come up with the solution in her society by using technology. She enjoys netball and athletics.
Faith Rose Daniel loves to interact with different people. She enjoys public speaking and it is her way of putting her thoughts out. Faith enjoys fancy reading and making new friends coupled with her looking for adventure, travel, music and art. Her ardent ambition is to become one of the best surgeons in the world.
Elsie Wakarima is a current high school leaver. She aspires to become a computer scientist. What inspired her to join Team Kenya is her love for learning new things and she intends to use technology to make human lives better. Her hobbies include skating.
Kristein Gift Gichuhi
Gift is imaginative, innovative and passionate in how and why the world works the way it works. He is an enthusiast in universal exploration, global impact through eco-friendly innovation. His role model is Elon Musk as he serves as a beacon to the youth that anything is possible so long as you believe and put in the work with a little bit of creativity. Gift is passionate about robotics and AI seeking new ways the world could become greener through this. He plans to change the world from ICE and fossil fuels dependencies to renewable energies. Hobbies include playing basketball, coding, learning about the cosmos and watching Sci Fi movies. In an ever-evolving world only three principles shall stand the test of time: patience, persistence and kindness.
Ian Henry is a passionate young innovator who aspires to make the world a better place through the power of STEM. He’s key interest is in IoT and robotics. As a newbie in the line of technology Henry works hard to sharpen his skills in programming languages such as python and JavaScript. Being an Innovate Kenya alumni and having been shortlisted for the YSK challenge this year, he takes this as a chance to expand his knowledge in technology and find new and enhanced ways of helping those in his community. He enjoys watching rugby and drawing in his leisure time.
Job Kamwaro Muthoni is a first year computer science student at Dedan Kimathi University of Technology. He has had an immense interest in computers since being of very young age and learning more about them has been his obsession. Having taught himself how to program, Job has understanding of several programming languages including python, Kotlin and C and has also written a couple of websites. One of his dreams is to integrate his computer knowledge to the robotics field and use this to foster his passion in innovation, coming up with technical ways to better the world. He enjoys fixing electronics and listening to music.
Benjamin Onkendi aims to make a difference in his community by using the power of technology. This opportunity will absolutely be the difference-maker because he is an innovative problem solver. Benjamin’s ultimate goal is to work in various competitive companies and get better education, increase efficiency in robotics and systems that will be of benefit to society. He has great expectations for the future and FGC Robotics Kenya will help him to move forward with his dreams.
Andrew Kariuki is a young inventor who finds happiness in building robotics to help society. Having studied in one of the STEM schools which provided a lot of support, he came up with a project which reached the national level and has a strong desire to build more with great effect and positive impact in this generation. Few of his hobbies are gaming and reading.
Samuel James Muchathi is a young STEM enthusiast who believes in using science and other local ideas to solve global problems. He has the strong desire to pursue Computer Science and ensure he provides solutions to any upcoming problems. He’s familiar with hands-on skills that have enabled him come up with several scientific projects proving to provide better solutions in the days ahead. He’s goal oriented and focused in following STEM theories to provide efficient solutions to arising problems. Having basic skills in programming languages like python, HTML, CSS & JavaScript ensures he’s able to work on his projects with an aim of excelling exemplary well in computer science.
