The famous Claudius Ptolemy once described Malaysia as Aurea Chersonesus or known as the Golden Peninsula. The Malay Peninsula is thought to have been a producer of gold in ancient times. Although gold is now not a major product of modern-day Malaysia, it is still being mined in some parts of Malaysia. That being said, Malaysia isn’t just rich with natural resources, but also with cultural diversities, unique heritages, heavenly islands and thousands of species of floras and faunas. Nowhere in this world could be the epitome of rich other than Malaysia as we have zillions of experiences and uniqueness to offer.
The Covid-19 pandemic has caused schools in Malaysia to close for a long period of time. In order to keep the spirit and momentum going, Roboticist Malaysia organised the 2021 International Roboticist Challenge where a number of 24 countries took part in this online robotics competition. The competition offered students to show off their skills in robot programming, computer-aided design and STEM-pitch technical presentation. A group of Malaysian and international judges worked together to identify the best students to represent Malaysia in the 2021 FIRST Global Challenge.
Team Malaysia comprises twelve brilliant and potential teenagers aged between 15 to 17 years old from three different schools; SMK Bukit Bandaraya Bangsar (Kuala Lumpur), Malay College Kuala Kangsar (Perak) and Tun Fatimah School (Johor). The team meets up virtually to discuss all challenges posted by FIRST Global and works dedicatedly to complete all the tasks given. Team Malaysia 2021 hopes to inspire youth to focus on logical thought processes and problem-solving to develop mental habits that will help them succeed in any field. Our team, that we proudly named Team Malaysia, will strive for excellence and achieve nothing else than the best. Demimu, Malaysia! (For you, Malaysia!)
