29 Sep Team Nicaragua 2021 🇳🇮
Team Nicaragua consists of two girls, Arianne and Belen, and two mentors, Martha and Lenin. We four are from the department of Managua. We describe ourselves as a group that is interested in providing educational solutions for children with autism by implementing technological innovation. And also, whose main goal is to make education more accessible for kids who have autism who reside in developing countries, and we try to achieve this by viewing ourselves as a team with ambition and who work hard to achieve every little thing, despite the problems or circumstances we may be facing throughout the whole challenge. But most importantly, by having the chance to participate in the FIRST Global Challenge we hope that other people from Nicaragua see that these type of competitions exists out there because we consider that if people of our age had the correct guidance to pursue careers in STEM, especially girls from countries such as ours, they would be more familiar and they will have the courage to participate in them. This is what we hope we accomplish by participating in the FIRST Global Challenge, to empower many more women in our country by showing them that opportunities like these exist out there and that you only have to seek them to be in them because by our years of experience being an outcast we have learned that every little given chance matters. And it may be hard at first to accept your own strengths, but as you grow more courage into yourself you start to realize that these types of chances just like the FIRST Global Challenge only come once in a lifetime. To finalize our description we would like to say that this competition gave us the chance to be more creative on how we reflect our ideas and it helped us to imagine how things can work if we think outside of the box.
The quote that best describes us is: “Education is the most powerful weapon we can use to change the world”.
