
22 May Team Bahamas 2022 🇧🇸
Team Bahamas 2022 is comprised of high school level students from Saint Augustine’s College in Nassau, The Bahamas. The students a part of this team are members of the Saint Augustine’s College Robotics Club, a club dedicated to learning the various aspects that S.T.E.M. has to offer, mainly revolving around coding, engineering, and of course, robotics.
The Bahamas is an archipelago comprised of 700 islands and cays surrounded by turquoise blue waters off the coast of Florida. These students are excited to represent The Bahamas on a global level in the field of Robotics. They all have a desire and passion for The Bahamas to be recognized for technological advancement and inventions alongside its natural beauty, ocean, indigenous creatures, and culture.

Dereo Maycock (Aged 17) — Dereo Maycock is a hard-working student with a great interest in all aspects of S.T.E.M. As an aspiring engineer, he is a builder and robot designer on the team. He loves swimming and is an active member of the National Water Polo Association, a sport that he cherishes. He is excited to be a member of the team and looks forward to participating in this year’s competition.
Sonet Archer (Aged 17) — Sonet Archer is an aspiring engineer with a special interest in aerospace engineering along with aerodynamics. She also enjoys programming and is currently learning Java along with Block coding. As such, she is a programmer on our team. She loves reading & writing and collaborating with others on projects. She looks forward to advancing her knowledge in this year’s competition.
Zyontae Adderley (Aged 16) — Zyontae Adderley is a dedicated student who has always maintained an interest in software engineering and computer science and wants to fulfill his goal of being a specialized Computer Scientist. He has the spirit of a leader and is always ready to take on any challenge that crosses him. He is highly intrigued with S.T.E.M. and takes any opportunity he can to learn more about it. He has participated in the 2019 FIRST Global Challenge in Dubai and has since enhanced his knowledge of robotics. He is excited to be a part of this competition once again and hopes to learn more along the way.
Tanae Johnson (Aged 16) — Tanae Johnson is a 12th grader that had a long-time interest in robotics; sparked after reading about a fictional character who built computers and other gadgets for a tech company. As a builder on our team, she specializes in precise measurements and constructions. Tanae would like to build life-improving gadgets as a hobby in the future.
Tyler Cambridge (Aged 15) — Tyler Cambridge is an 11th grader that has a strong interest in the functionality of the robot components and robot design. As a builder on the team, he is also a hobbyist and skilled electrician that also builds and solders custom keyboards. He also practices the martial arts. He is an aspiring mechanical engineer and computer scientist and intends to take on both fields of study in college.
