22 May Team Bangladesh 2022 🇧🇩
This year, Team Bangladesh assembled a group of 18 high schoolers, all of whom are exceptionally skilled in the field of STEM. In our country, robotics or the technological aspects of STEM has not yet managed to reach the mass population. Yet, what brings these 18 people together is their strong passion for robotics.
All of these students are enthusiastic about working with mechanical components and circuitry, as well as developing video games by themselves or creating animation and CGI! And despite the many challenges, such as the lack of proper resources, they continue to work hard, expanding their knowledge of STEM as well as sharing it with others.
This year’s theme, Carbon Capture, is very important and crucial to our team as it emphasizes real problems we may need to tackle in the near future. The team members are becoming increasingly concerned about issues like Climate Change and Global Warming as our country, Bangladesh, is particularly vulnerable to the disastrous consequences of such changes. It is expected that if global warming continues at the rapid rate it is now with the rising sea levels, Bangladesh will be underwater by the next few decades. Thus, in order to safeguard our country, we, as the representatives of Team Bangladesh, have a responsibility to increase awareness and consciousness amongst our country’s population to prevent the accumulation of Carbon Dioxide in the atmosphere.
Our journey with FIRST Global Challenge began in 2017 when we were still learning and lacked a lot of experience. But we successfully managed to grow and learn through the challenges, not only about STEM but as well as areas such as cooperation and collaboration.
This year, we even have our alumni working with us as mentors besides the official mentors, guiding us through the game, as we hope to achieve a strong foothold in this game and wish to enhance our STEM skills, in order to develop effective resolutions that could contribute to improving the world. With more experience and improved strengths this year, we hope to bring about a change by taking part in this year’s FGC.
Thank you to our supporters!
