Considered as the heart of West Africa with more than sixty ethnic groups, Burkina Faso is one of those countries that has a cultural diversity and a social cohesion important enough, hence the name “country of men of integrity”. But in view of the latest unfortunate events that our country has undergone, as young people our participants have decided to learn more about STEM professions in order to propose solutions to alleviate the concerns of insecurity, famine, internal displacement and thus contribute to bringing peace in the country. Through the opportunity to participate in the FIRSTGlobal Challenge with the theme of “Carbon Capture”, we hope to discover more, network, and learn more from other participants in order to create solutions to help improve the lives of some Burkinabe with the goal of being able to draw a smile on the face of every internally displaced child and bring hope to the lives of every widow who has been affected by the despair that our country is currently experiencing. This year’s team, consisting of two girls and three boys, is supported by FIRST Global Challenge alumni from previous years to have the determination to learn, inspire, and adapt STEM to make their modest contribution in creating solutions.
