FUSALMO is the institution in charge of organizing Team El Salvador. This year the selection process was carried out through a youth technological congress with a national call in which the young people carried out different STEAM activities. Next, we share the details of the young members of Team El Salvador:

Naomi Solano
My name is Naomi Monserrat Solano López. I was born on July 11, 2005 and began my studies in a Catholic kindergarten. I have two sisters, one of them is my twin. I live in the municipality of San Salvador and I am currently studying 2nd Year of Baccalaureate with an Electronic specialty, at the Ricaldone Technical Institute (ITR, acronym in Spanish). My biggest dream is to be an Aeronautical Engineer, so I am constantly looking for opportunities that help my training. In 2021 I attended the EV-3 Robotics course, taught by INSAFORP. This year I participated in the STEAM Club “Aerospace Adventure” developed by FUSALMO. I hope to have more opportunities in the future and make the most of them. I thank God and life for every opportunity that comes my way.

Ángel Méndez
My name is Ángel Axel Méndez Mejía, I am 16 years old. I live in Santa Tecla and I am a 1st year general baccalaureate student at the “Alberto Masferrer” Catholic School Center, awarded a scholarship for the second year in a row at ¡Supérate!, a educational center of Poma Foundation. For more than 2 years I have been participating in choirs and music classes, specifically violin. In general, I like to learn new things, much of it STEAM-oriented, such as chemistry, physics, programming, mathematics and music.

Ileana Pérez
My name is Ileana Michelle Pérez García, I am 17 years old, I live in the municipality of Mejicanos and I study at Joyas de Cerén School. I like to work in a team and I adapt to any job assigned to me. I really like meeting new people, designing and drawing. Robotics is one of the things that I am most passionate about. I would like at some point to dedicate myself totally to it, and if the opportunity arises, to instruct more young people and children on this interesting subject. I am currently studying second year of high school with an electronic specialty. On the other hand, I have taken courses on cybersecurity, introduction to Arduino and introduction to networks. I would love to continue learning more about these topics.

Victor López
My name is Víctor René López Huezo, I live in the municipality of Mejicanos and I study at Ricaldone Technical Institute (ITR). In 2019 I became interested in programming and mobile application development, and in the middle of 2020, I began the remote development of a mobile application for a client in Puerto Rico, an experience that gives me many lessons and increases my professional development. In 2021 I participated in TECNOFUSALMO Youth Congress, winning the “PhET Simulators of the University of Colorado” challenge. I am part of Team El Salvador this year, participating in the FGC 2021. For 2022 I was called to be part of the Central Council of Students in the ITR, appointed Deputy Coordinator of the Communications Commission. In this same year I participated in the Salesian competition “Emboscados”, of which I was the winner at the institutional level.

Johana Argueta
My name is Johana Melissa Argueta Sánchez, I am 17 years old. I live in the municipality of Soyapango and I am currently in my 2nd year of general high school with a diploma in graphic design at INFRAMEN Institute. My hobbies are playing the clarinet, dancing, playing volleyball, and a few years ago the robotics area began to attract my attention, winning first and second place in robotics expo. Another of my hobbies is art (drawing, painting, specifically creating and assembling objects). It is worth mentioning that I have completed a programming certification in video game creation, coming to create my own video game.
