Team Fiji 2022 🇫🇯

Fiji—like its neighbors across the South Pacific—remains one of the smallest contributors to global carbon emissions yet faces some of the most devastating consequences of extreme weather patterns. Climate change is real, and it will continue to impact the livelihoods of our people, the nation, the region and the planet, at large.

Our future as a small island nation depends on countering the impacts of climate change. Thus, we believe that the theme for this year “Carbon Capture”, is an incredible way to foster innovative ideas and solutions as well as empower a whole generation to become the change-makers that the world needs.

The new advancements in technology can truly increase our impact in the fight against climate change. Small nations with limited resources such as Fiji are victims of these dangerous effects. The theme of Carbon Capture is the process of capturing CO2 before it is released into the atmosphere and storing it for centuries. We believe that this theme is a step closer to our fight against Climate Change as a small nation.
