Thanthwe Mphangwe is a form one student at Kamuzu Academy in Kasungu. He became interested in robotics and science through the television and got introduced to robotics through a robotics bootcamp that was held in Blantyre Malawi by Robotics foundation Malawi. He aspires to be an electrical engineer to deal with the electricity issues that Malawi faces. He is the team’s builder and the voice of reason when things get heated.
Razaque Mponda got interested to robotics as a kid as he was always curious and inquisitive on why things are the way they are and what could be done to make them better. As a 17-year-old form 3 student at Zingwangwa Secondary School, his hopes are to see a better Malawi that is technologically developed and having the youth in the forefront in decision making. He is the programmer of the group as his interests are mostly in software development and coding.
Jedidiah Mtegha has always hoped that his inventions will help those in need and build a good future where everyone is equal. He is a Form 3 student at Rays of Hope Academy and his interest in robotics comes from watching a lot of TV. His role in the team is building and bringing ideas together.
Favor Chandiyang’ana is a 14-year-old form 1 student at Chichiri Secondary School. She is passionate about science and technology and would like to pursue a career in STEM. She is the team’s general fitter and can do whatever has been assigned to her.
Etta Kaliwo is a 17 year old form 3 student at Rays of Hope Academy. She is passionate about STEM. She would like to become a neurosurgeon that uses robots in her surgeries. She is the team’s designer and the one that brings things together.
