Team Malta 2022 🇲🇹

Team Malta consists of five students; Carl, Jean-Paul, Nicholas, Daniel and Emuel and two mentors; Lucienne and Thomas.

Carl (17 years old) – Carl has always been intrigued and up to date with technology since he was a child. Additionally, his passion for software engineering developed when he attended secondary school and learned JAVA during the computing lessons. He is honoured to be part of the selected participants for the 2022 FIRST Global Challenge Malta team and he is eager to build the robot as a team as well as to meet new people.

Jean Paul (17 years old) – Jean Paul has been interested in technology for as long as he can remember and in 2019, he started studying computing for the first time. Besides his general interest in computing, he enjoys coding and decided to expand his education in Software Development at MCAST. During his free time Jean Paul enjoys skateboarding with his friends.

Nicholas (16 years old) – Nicholas is studying Software Development at MCAST. He has been fascinated with technology and its inner workings ever since he started experimenting with his father’s old XP desktop as a child. While he never really thought about robotics, thinking how these machines actually function along with the physics and logic behind them seemed intriguing. He believes that this competition is giving him the chance to delve further in the field. He is incredibly grateful for being selected to compete in this once in a lifetime experience and he is looking forward to meeting new people along with their creations.

Daniel (18 years old): As a child, Daniel enjoyed dismantling devices such as used video game consoles and even had a small toy robot which may have contributed to his interest in robotics. When Daniel was selected for this competition, he was incredibly grateful as now he is able to once again work on his childhood passion for robots.

Emuel (17 years old) – Emuel became interested in programming after being introduced to Java in secondary school. Emuel enjoys problem-solving and he is able to do it by designing and implementing projects. When Emuel is not coding, he likes reading books. He wanted to participate in FIRST Global because he feels that it is incredibly exciting to work as part of a team and towards a goal by developing a robot together.
