INGABIRE Digne biography
Digne Ingabire, a 16-years old, was born and raised in Kigali, the capital city of Rwanda. Rwanda is small, beautifully, and hilly country. I come from a wonderful family of 4 women as the first born and was lucky to grow with loving parents. My curiosity in using the internet is linked often with my interest in STEM. Currently I am in Senior 4th grade at Muhabura Integrated Polytechnic college taking Masonry (currently doing its 3rd level).
In college, I want to pursue ICT or medicine. But I see STEM as a solution to real world problems such as communication, service delivery and others. I want to be part of IFC since it is contributing to this quickly changing technology by connecting people and engaging them in transforming the world. I am committed at using the skills that I will acquire from FIRST Global program to impact my home and Africa. I and fellow Rwandans are committed to participating in the transforming of continent using technology. However, we are lacking places dedicated to exploring and inventing. I will use the education that I will acquire in the program to work towards creating an African Silicon Valley. This place will promote invention, and we will start contributing to our own development. I am motivated to apply in this program because with the experience that I will acquire I will be having more steps ahead towards development of technology in Africa and the world at large.
