26 May Team Syria 2022 🇸🇾
Team Syria for 2022 is the best team ever.
We have 9 remarkable students that have been into STEM for years. Most of them already know Scratch, Electronics, Arduino, and Python. Some of them have participated previously in local scientific and robotic competitions. Each of them comes from a different school, and they’re all on top of their classes. They’re not only good at STEM, but they’re also athletes, artists, and musicians.
They achieved all of that despite the fact their childhood was during the hardest years of the Syrian conflict.
Another fantastic thing about this year’s team is that it’s being organized jointly by two parties:
– SyBots: the robotics team that has represented Syria in FIRST Global since 2019.
– Genius Planet: A team that was established in 2015 aiming to teach children and young people about computer sciences to start from basic principles and specialize in one of the modern programming tracks such as web programming, gaming industry, mobile applications, and others. 500 students have been enrolled in technical courses and 1,300 have benefitted from community activities so far.
We’re really glad to represent our country Syria in the competition. We’re also thrilled that we will get to meet all the other teams from all over the world after 2 years of participating online, especially our friends from the 2019 event (our first participation). We’re also already getting to know new people from different teams online and can’t wait to meet them and have fun together in Geneva.
