26 May Team Thailand 2022 🇹ðŸ‡
Team Thailand is a group of six members with nine more supporting members as well as three mentors. All members are honored to represent the country. The students have been united by a common goal and interest; use STEM and robotics to create a positive impact in our community and the world. Even though a few of them have prior robotics experience from FIRST LEGO® Leagues, most of the members are still new to robotics but they’ve quickly found passion and joy as they are working in this field as a team.
These students have been inspired by the examples of previous teams from other countries. They are now, in turn, inspiring fellow students by advocating for STEM through their work. Moreover, they aim to spread their knowledge and the STEM community to the younger generations as they learn from the competition and after its conclusion.
The team is excited to bring their robot invention to their first international stage and meet teams from other countries. They are also putting great efforts into researching and learning what they can from local experts in order to find solutions to the world’s carbon emissions problem. Their hope is to be able to share their knowledge and ideas with others at the FIRST Global Challenge and collaborate with them to achieve this goal.
The members of Team Thailand and their mentors, Teerani (Top) Sutthiphansakul, Villnard Roi Villanueva, and Haley Kalinichenko Meyers, would like to say that we are a family from North to South and East to West. We can all work together to make the world a better place for everyone. We would like to express our appreciation to FIRST Global for providing us with this unique opportunity to be a part of this amazing event involving people from all across the world.
Sahachat (Chevy) — Chevy’s initial interest has been in technology and computer science. He aspires to be a computer engineer. Being an active person, he has taken up many roles but has recently been drawn to working with team media and robot design. He’s now working closely with his mentor to learn to create media content as well as contributing to our robot at the same time.
Thanida — I’m Thanida (Engeng) Boonkangvan in the Business, Media, and Communications Team! This is my first time joining a competition from a FIRST organization. I don’t have any experience with robotics but I’ve always been interested in STEAM (Science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics). In the future, I would like to work in an architecture field. Architect requires creativity skills to come up with ideas and solutions to satisfy the user’s needs. I find that FGC would be a great opportunity to join!
Vicky — My name is Victoria (Vicky) Alisa Dixon, and I’m one of the team’s technicians. This is my first time joining the FIRST Global Challenge, but it’s not my first time competing in a FIRST event. I joined the first year it started as it sounded interesting, and it had to deal with Legos. I tried to join any FIRST Lego League game that was possible, as the first time I joined a competition in 2018, I learned a lot about the process and how friendly people are in these competitions, as I’ve made a few myself. One of the main reasons that I joined these FIRST events is mainly because I have an interest in pursuing STEM as a future career, marine biologist, underwater criminal investigator, which is a subject that mainly deals with science, and with a bit of mathematics.
Justin — My name is Justin, I am a member of the Thai National Team. I joined the FGC team because when I grow up I want to be an engineer and I think that FGC is a great place for me to start my journey of becoming an engineer, it will help me grow as a person, and grow my knowledge as an individual! I believe that I can use my knowledge of problem solving and communication skills to help with the communication aspect of the team.
Yeji — This is Yeji’s first experience with robotics and a FIRST competition. She is currently our researcher and fund manager. She has recently moved from South Korea and has been adjusting to a vastly different environment. She is on a journey where she’s learning to gain confidence and finding her passion through STEM and our FGC team.
Siri — Sawad Dee Krub! I’m Siri (Aon) Neatpisranvaich, a 2025 student. I’m a member of the Business, Media, and Communications Team! Here is the process involved in joining Team Thailand. When I was younger, I started building things out of Legos, which opened up my mind and let me construct a lot of things I’d always wanted to build but hadn’t had the chance to, so I’d use my imagination to make them. I’ve decided to join a team to represent Thailand because of this interest. Being a member of this team made me feel incredibly honored.
