Team Ukraine 2022 🇺🇦

Hello! Here are Ihor, Zakhar, Danylo, Artem, and team mentors Yuliia and Anna from Ukraine! Our team is not very big, but we are inspired by doing inventive and useful things with robots, being on the today’s edge of technologies.

Knowledge and experience we get from robotics significantly improve our ability for the future challenges. It works as for our study in school so for our future learning in universities and businesses or society.

For years, Ukraine has been famous for its engineering talents. It’s all starting in schools where Math, and now Programming, are well-delivered subjects. Then universities with well-known Kiev Polytechnic Institute develop talents for tech industries.

We are a team of enthusiastic students that want to change our country and our future. And of course, we start from ourselves!

My name is Ihor, I am fifteen and I am studying in the Natural Science Lyceum №145 of Kyiv. I have been interested in robotics for 6 years. In the past, I have taken part in the National stage of the World Robot Olympiad 3 times and I am going to do so this year as well. However, robotics is not my only hobby of mine. Once I have come second in my category at the OceanMan International swimming competition. Interest and enthusiasm are the main reasons I’m a part of team Ukraine. My main goals are to solve interesting problems, get new experiences, and have fun with my team.

My name is Zakhar, I live in Kyiv, Ukraine, and now studying in Kyiv Natural Scientific Lyceum №145. I became interested in FIRST Global when my classmate, another member of our team, Igor, told me about the competition. Now I’m interested in cryptocurrency and after school, I will be a blockchain developer.

My name is Danylo and I am 15 years old. Currently, I am a student of the Natural Science Lyceum of Kyiv №145 and together with my classmates, I am taking part in the World Robot Olympiad 2022. I first found myself curious and interested in robotics when I got a robotics kit as a birthday gift from my cousin. After that, robotics became my hobby, but the FIRST Global Challenge 2022 is going to be my first serious competition in the field. My other hobbies are football and computer gaming. The reasons for me agreeing to participate in this year’s FIRST Global Challenge when my friend invited me to join the team, are to meet new people, broaden my knowledge in STEM, and spend a good time with my friends, all while solving interesting, tricky puzzles and problems.

My name is Artem, I’m 15. My hobbies are reading books and listening to music, I like learning and trying new things. I started learning Programming in 5th grade and since I always liked mathematics, learning it was a lot easier. I think it’s because during school I participated in many different maths & physics competitions. When I found out about the FIRSTGlobal Challenge, I immediately wanted to try something new. As someone who is fond of programming, I am also very interested in how to program and construct a robot, all while working as a team. Additionally, I want to meet and chat with other people at the event to make it even more fun and exciting!

My name is Yuliia. I am a team mentor. From childhood, I have been interested in computer technologies. So now, I am a 4-year student of KPI and my specialization is Computer Vision and Object Detection in the field of Applied Math. But more than programming, I am interested in Robotics. So this was a reason for me to be a participant in the FIRST Global Challenge in 2018, 2019, and 2021 years. I have a dream to make technologies and STEM education accessible to everyone. As a result, I try to share my personal experience and knowledge with kids and students.

My name is Anna. I am a team mentor. I have been working in STEM education for several years and organizing robotics competitions in Ukraine. I work directly with teams and the organization of their work. Last year I took part in the FIRSTGlobal Challenge for the first time as a team mentor and now I continue this year. I am delighted with the FIRST Global programs and the opportunities that it gives to students from all over the world, including from Ukraine.

Thank you to our supporters!
