Greetings From the Team Republic of Vanuatu.

Team Vanuatu consists of sixteen enthusiastic young people from various schools in Vanuatu. Team Vanuatu is being coordinated by SMART Sistas Committee, a non-profit organization that organizes annual Girls ICT Camps in Vanuatu since 2016.

Team members have various career path interests apart from STEM and all of them are keen to participate. Team Vanuatu has been participating in the FIRST Global Robotic Challenge since 2017 and each year the team changes due to the age criteria. The 2022 team consists of both girls and boys for the first time who are eager to learn more about building the robot and making it work. Only one team member has been in the robotics team before, so this is a young and new team with little prior experience with robotics since competitions in Vanuatu are almost non-existent. However, these kids learn quickly, and they are able to start building their robot from scratch on their own with little assistance.

The team is looking forward to the challenge for 2022 where the travelling team of five students and two mentors will meet with the global robotics family in Geneva and also meet up with their country alliances. Team Vanuatu wishes all teams best wishes for the 2022 challenge and a memorable experience in Geneva, Switzerland.
