The Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) is positioned to play a monumental role in the rapidly burgeoning green hydrogen market, thanks to its vast renewable energy resource: “The Grand Inga Dam.” The DRC’s capacity doesn’t just stop with the dam. Recent plans unveiled highlight the country’s drive to couple solar energy with green hydrogen, further cementing the DRC’s commitment to exploring alternative energy sources. Participating in this year’s FIRST Global Challenge represents a chance for the youth to become a valuable resource in grasping the hydrogen potential within our nation and the benefits it offers.

Team DRC, composed of a group of talented young boys and girls from the Eastern region of the country (Bukavu), is all set to participate once again. Their mission? To engage in learning, work diligently, enjoy themselves, and continue to blaze a trail in STEM within their community. Above all, the team aims to deepen their understanding of the significance of looking into green hydrogen power and the manifold positive effects it will bestow upon our planet.
