Team Honduras 2023 🇭🇳

We are a new team based in Tegucigalpa. Our team has members from three different schools and we are very excited to start this learning chapter in our high school journey. We are an eclectic group with varying interests but with a passion for learning and trying new things. We look forward to connect and be inspired by likeminded individuals from all over the world.

We are still in disbelief this opportunity came our way and are willing to give our very best in FIRST Global Challenge Singapore!
Our team consists of six members ranging from 14–17 years old and even though our schools have participated in robotics competitions before, this will be the first experience for all of us! Robotics is new in our country and this opportunity will allow us to gain skills we will be able to share with others in our community. With the Hydrogen Horizons challenge we will explore clean and sustainable energy sources that will contribute to the environment and the health of our community and planet.

Hydrogen Energy in Honduras
Our country’s clean energy production is mainly focused in three sources: hydraulic, solar and Eolic. This past February, the National Energy Dispatch Center reported that more than half of the energy produced in the country came from clean energy sources. Nevertheless, our country still has many communities who do not have access to electricity making it very difficult for them to thrive. The Honduran Government recently has been exploring the possibility to build a hydrogen plant that will contribute to clean energy production.

Thank you to our supporters!
